Literature Text

A revolution between the humans and the vampires had begun just after the humans tried to invade my home. I read in the newspaper, saying thousands of humans have already been killed, only 5 or 6 vampires have been defeated. I felt so pitiful for the humans; Kalina and I were the ones that started this. No matter what happens, I would protect Kalina from everything that was a threat to me.

I knew she would be protected in the mansion, but I will soon find out that our house turned into a “safe zone”.

I was writing in the library, as usual, when I suddenly heard the front door I had, literally, locked down be forced open. Then, I heard Kalina’s screams, and that was what caused me to rush downstairs over to the front entrance, only to find a man with blonde hair and red eyes holding Kalina close. His sharp fangs nearly bit into her neck if it hadn’t been for me removing the man from her body and tearing the head from his body off. She looked to be in absolute fear whenever she noticed the man’s body split into pieces. I held her closely, trying to calm her down when she began hyperventilating. Then another man suddenly appeared right in front of us, excited to see his “meal”; this man had red hair and red eyes.

“Oh look,” he began, “You brought a snack,” he smiled, revealing his sharp fangs I determined not to let sink into Kalina’s neck. He hissed at her but I grabbed him tightly by the shoulders and pushed him hard onto the ground, splitting his body into tiny pieces. I quickly grabbed hold of Kalina and I ran out of the house as fast as I could. She sounded nauseous as she watched how fast I was; so much faster than a human.

I knew we were no longer safe in that house; Right after we left, a bunch of vampires took over our home and made it their “Safe zone”. I could see why they would choose my house as their new home; after all, Kalina and I started the war. But it’s a huge misunderstanding! I wish everyone knew that…

Well, even if they did know that I didn’t kill Kalina, the war would’ve probably stayed; the other vampires would let the war continue until every human was dead.

The whole house, even the woods around it, were no longer safe, and that meant Kalina and I had to stay in town - but really, who would let me stay? Everyone knew who I was, so somehow I had to hide myself and find a place to stay for us to stay.

Well it’s a good thing i’m wearing a cloak with a hood on it.

My face was hidden, and no one recognized Kalina at all; she didn’t need to be hidden, because no one knew who she was; I was the one who needed to be hidden.

I held her close by the hand, gripping it tightly when she would become nervous about someone staring at us. One time, I felt her hand grip hard onto my shoulder.

“We’ll be there soon, Kalina,” I began, whispering. “Calm down-“

“I’m afraid you’re wrong, old friend.”

I knew that voice; I turned around to find a man I had not seen in 206 years - a man that has always been my enemy - a man I lust to kill since the day he betrayed me.

A man named Alexander Crowe.
